Being part of Artistar Jewels at Milan Fashion Week
Every year jewellers gather in Milan from around the world at the invitation of Artistar Jewels to exhibit their contemporary jewellery during Milan Fashion week.
Artistar Jewels lead the representation of original and transversal jewellery design. They use artistic value and technical experimentation as the benchmark to evaluate and select the jewellery for exhibit.
During the weeklong event in Palazzo dei Giureconsulti the 168 contemporary jewellers from 30 different countries are offered numerous opportunities to profile their pieces. A glittering opening night party is followed by features in a range of promotional media, the Artistar Jewels website, local media, and front and centre, the exhibition showcase and a published book.
Superbly designed and catalogued this book is an art piece. For sale in book shops in Italy, it is also distributed amongst concept stores, galleries and distributors worldwide.
From my submissions two pieces were chosen, they were a 9ct pair of Gilded Baby Acorn earrings and my Gum Nut and Leaf necklace with an orange CZ. Both were attributed a full page each in the exhibition book.
After the excitement of being chosen, the highlight of my professional career to date was to travel to Milan and, during the exhibition opening, meeting many of my fellow exhibiting jewellers and being part of the exhibition award ceremony.
I am excited by the professional growth the week in Milan gives me and I look forward to interpreting it in my jewellery design.
The enduring follow-on is the powerful exposure for my jewellery on the Artistar Jewels' website for a year. This displays my two exhibition pieces for sale through their online shop www.artistarjewels.com.
